We intend to equip people to live by faith in a powerful God. 1 Jn 5:4 affirms that “Whosoever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” Faith is a powerful force. Jesus told us faith can “move mountains”, that “nothing is impossible to him that believes.” Hebrews 11:6 tells us, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”
Equipping requires giving. Giving ourselves to others. You might impress people from a distance, but you can only impact people up close. For you to get equipped to “live by faith” we are continually sharing, teaching, showing, discipling and building God’s word into your heart. This is done through our worship services, our Connect Groups, our B.A.S.I.C. Training classes and personal mentoring of men’s and women’s classes. Nothing is more important to Jesus than developing people, to equip them. His last command was to disciple others, to equip them to follow Him. Phil. 2 says, “He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” The work that God does in each of our hearts can never be completed if we do not equip people with God’s word. Here at F.C.O.C. you will find our focus on learning God’s word, beginning with the children right up to adults. In an environment where people are equipped, their faith thrives. People are lifted and respected. They begin to experience great victories and learn how to live the overcoming lifestyle.
